Mountainfilm On Tour Kick-Off Party

Registration for all Mountain Festival events close 48 hours ahead of time. Participants for each event are emailed at this time with tour location, etc. Please remember that all events are held in and around North Lake Tahoe but exact specifics will be shared 48 hours ahead of time to assess snow quality and safety.

Help us kick off Mountain Festival with the critically-acclaimed Mountainfilm Festival on Saturday, February 15th 7pm at Squaw Valley’s Olympic Village Lodge. Mountainfilm uses the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. The Lake Tahoe screening of this global phenomenon is made possible through the generosity of Flylow.

Mountainfilm is a documentary film festival that showcases nonfiction stories about environmental, cultural, climbing, political and social justice issues that matter. Mountainfilm travels throughout the world with a selection of current and best-loved adventure films from their annual flagship festival in Telluride, Colorado. Through Mountainfilm on Tour, the organization touches the lives of over 50,000 people every year and visits more than 100 locations on six continents. It’s their way of extending the reach of the annual festival and helping filmmakers’ inspiring content be seen by audiences across the globe.

Doors open at 5pm and all Mountain Festival sponsors will be on hand with booths, gear displays, giveaways and fun for the entire family. The show begins at 7pm. $12 for adults, $7 for kids under 15. All A generous raffle from our friends at Flylow will benefit the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance. Please note that ticket purchases are non-refundable.

*PLEASE NOTE! In the spirit of inclusivity we are limiting participants to four tours. This does not include workshops, Backcountry Basics, etc. Registration for most events requires a deposit, which varies from $25-$100, that is refunded upon participation. Cancellations are not allowed after February 1st and all calendar adjustments prior to February 1st are subject to a $10 adjustment fee. Any excess garnered from the cancellation policy will be donated to Protect Our Winters and the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance.

**Please also note that you will be sent a complete equipment list for each individual event by the middle of January. Additionally, if you have registered for any backcountry tour you will be contacted 72 hours prior to the tour with the exact location. This is irrelevant if your chosen tour stipulates a location, but for others we want to assess the snow and avalanche conditions for others closer to the event. The goal is to show you the best time possible which requires a decision closer to each tour.
